I've always been inspired and amazed with the stories of every individual who dares to tackle 140.6 miles: whether racing to honor the memory of a loved-one lost; to bring awareness to a noble cause; or to simply achieve a seemingly impossible athletic goal, IRONMAN triathletes are mobilized by the idea that ‘Anything is Possible’.
The next few months my mission is to raise awareness for a healthier lifestyle to eliminate Type II Diabetes. Like many of you, I have witnessed family members and friends suffer from the effects of Type II Diabetes.
The next few months my mission is to combine P90X3, IRONMAN Training Program, and proper nutrition. I will be experimenting with different nutrition plans to find what works. Nothing crazy! I am not going vegan (I can’t give up my Smitty’s wings!), but I will be incorporating vegan style recipes with other sports performance nutritional plans to guide me along my journey.
The next few months my mission is to hopefully set an example for my kids. I hope they understand we encourage them to have dreams/goals, but only those who challenge him/herself via proper planning and work ethic will see the dreams come true and accomplish the goals...and I’ve been dreaming of being an IRONMAN.
The next few months my mission is to survive the training regiment and finish the race on October 1, 2016.
